Happy Easter soon! And how cute is this little picture tutorial (see more below) the folks at Present&Correct sent over to share with you this weekend. It's all pretty self-explanatory with the images, but check out the steps below! Happy wishes for your Easter and Passover break.

You will need:
1 egg (with egg blown out)
bowl
1 pin
watercolours
paper
pen or pencil
xacto knife or scissors
a small box (that will fit an egg)

Step 1
Blow out the egg yolk out of the egg. Simply pierce both ends with a needle, making sure to create a big enough hole for the yolk and whites to come out of. Blow into one end into a bowl, until all of the inside yolk and whites have been removed.

Step 2
Paint the egg to your liking. We love their polka dot one! Psssst! To make a perfect polka dot, dip the end of a pencil's eraser into the paint, then dab.

Step 3
Cut a strip of paper for your message using an xacto knife or scissors. We love the use of graph paper or accounting paper.

Step 4
Write your message!

Step 5
Roll up the message small enough to fit into the whole (you blew out of) of the egg.

Step 6
Insert the message.

Step 7
Place in box! Made a fun "hint" message for the top inside of the box if you like!

Step 8
Post!

Step 9
Your secret message gets opened! Yay!

Sweet!
I never blown yolk out of an egg. I'm scared to do it!
Wonderful idea!:-)
so, the first time reading this post, i noticed the polka-dots looked awkward. the second time through, i noticed there's no dots in the last picture. cute, but photo-shopped. :)
this is GREAT!
such a cute idea! i really like the polka dots.
Make sure you dry out your egg overnight, the rest is pretty straightforward.
We had to do a spot of retouching but only on request from the eggs agent. We took out a few pimples, wrinkles and we thinned the egg down a bit. She was at least a day past her sell by date.
Happy Easter!
ohu, I soo love this idea!

Oh my I wish I had seen this in time - booked marked for next year. :)
what a brilliant idea
I didn't go down the "real egg" road on my egg invitation, way back when. One plastic egg. The invitation is made of one very long strip of accordian folded paper, 3 pieces that I pieced together and glued on the inside of the plastic egg. Very fun, but a little expensive to mail. ;)

great idea!!!! My dad made eggs like this for us when we were kids. I can picture him straining as he tried to blow the yolk out of the egg! Hilarious! We never had noted inside, and tried to keep from cracking them as long as we could. I still have one egg from chilhood 30 years ago!
I LOVE IT!
AWESOME, I loved it!

I had fun knowing more about the history of Easter Eggs. Also in my craze for this fancy craft idea, I came up with few more Easter activities that are related to Easter eggs. Please allow me to share this on my Pinterest Easter board? Thank you so much! I asked my friends, what will you do with your eggs this Easter? Lol!
