9 Weekend Project: Jelly + Cake Mould Lights

Elle Decoration South Africa  | Photo: Yann Deret

We've seen a few versions of jelly and cake mould lights before, but I think what I like about these is that they are all tin.  Most I've seen in the past have been from the coloured plastic type.  Together this set makes a whimsical grouping.  From Elle Decoration South Africa  | Photo: Yann Deret | Compiled by Mandy Allen.  (How to:  They suggest getting your local electrician to assist you with adapting the moulld into a light.  Here is a link to how to cut with tin snips if you need to - some of the moulds have openings on the bottom already; also here is a link to making a pendant light for more reference).

I love the design of the South African creatives. I wish I could get the Elle Magazine SA in Germany. So many inspirations. The lights are just brilliant.

I love how the lights are industrial and yet homey because they're made out of things used for baking.

Maria + Jeanee - I know - isn't it great?

Julia - so true - kitschy is the perfect description for the coloured ones.
