Happy Thanksgiving fellow Canadians! We're taking the day off here today to enjoy more turkey and hang out with family. Just dropping in though to share a really healthy and delicious no sugar recipe we found and made for cranberry sauce using maple syrup instead of sugar.
1 pkg of fresh cranberries (227g) or (8 ounces)
1/2 cup water or orange juice if you like,
1/2 cup organic maple syrup (although we just used less as thats all we had and it was still delicious just a little tart).
1/2 tsp of cinnamon (or one stick)
Zest of one orange.
Boil water and syrup, add cranberries to boiling water boiling till they start to pop then simmer (adding cinnamon and orange zest) until most of the juices are gone. Approx 5-10 min. So easy!
