A Summer Hiatus

I don't like to quit.  Earlier this summer I set out on a "100 Days of Sunsets" project on our Instagram stories, and if I'm being honest, it has been one of the toughest assignments I've ever given myself since starting the blog back in 2005. The hardest part of this project (which I felt like quitting many times) and much like blogging, has been not getting bored with it, keeping it fresh, let alone putting content out day after day (one has to chase sunsets on the daily).

I haven't been perfect, but I committed to this 100 day project because not only was I was getting bored with blogging and the online world as a whole, but I was also searching for some sort of deeper meaning/inspiration to our online presence, and a project such as this seemed to be a good way to get some perspective.  I was loosing interest, passion and if I'm being honest, I had seriously started to get disenchanted with many aspects of the online world.  I needed a re-adjustment.

But, like I said, I don't like to quit (that is until I think I'm finished).  And with this project, and the blog coincidentally, I don't think I am quite ready to give up just yet. After all the rocks I've unturned here online throughout the years, I feel even more strongly, a need to share things I've become even more passionate about.  More on that later.

So where do we go from here? As of today, I still have 35 days left in my "100 Days of Sunsets" project, and although because of this project, I am having a pretty good sense where we'll be taking Poppytalk into its' 15th year,  I've decided to take the rest of August (and a bit of the fall), to finish off this project and refine things a bit, coming back here to the blog with hopefully an even clearer vision, fresher eyes and content, and bringing more meaning to our online presence.

So we'll see you back here in the fall! In the meantime catch our Instagram stories "100 Days of Sunsets" project, and any other inspiration we may be finding along the way.  Happy August! See you soon!
