It's only January I know, but here in the PNW, I can sense an energy and excitement of springtime from the fact that a heap of our spring blooms never went into dormant stage resulting in glimpses of Camellias and Rhododendrums and a warm welcome of the latest arrivals at IKEA to my inbox. Bringing with it, a lighter, fresher colour palette that hints a closeness to nature we miss in the winter months so much. And needing all the hope we can right now, IKEA fans should be inspired by a collection of clean lines with natural fibres like birch, bamboo and rattan for spring. All coming this February. Let's take a look!
I'm honoured to kick off the new year with this adorable idea by our friend and local creative Miranda Hudson of Madera Goods. Miranda has been biding more time in Tofino these days (one of B.C.'s most beautiful shores) and I'm living vicariously through both her Instagram accounts @maderagoods and @hudsonny Winter beaches here in the PNW are well known for all the driftwood they accumulate each season and Miranda has collected some very special smaller pieces, bringing the outdoors in and at the same time keeping their New Year's focus displayed so beautifully on their fridge. I loved this idea so much, so asked if she'd like to share it for our readers.
With home being a big part of this past year, I thought it only appropriate to do a little round-up of a few of our favourite home tours we did this past year on the blog. Small spaces seemed to be the theme for 2020, and perhaps fitting for the year we had, keeping things cozy and intimate. Let's take a look!
